Luxury UK resort and golf venue The Belfry invests in a strategic Verteda solution

Working alongside Paul Murphy and his team, the most appropriate solution was defined over a number of weeks, with The Belfry identifying and selecting modular elements to meet requirements today and as the business evolves. The Verteda team is currently implementing a fully integrated Point of Sale solution that can grow and develop in step with The Belfry’s changing requirements. This includes InfoGenesis™ POS software, Voyager 3 for mobile point of sale and WorldPay for mobile payments/Chip & PIN. The solution is seamlessly integrated with The Belfry’s OPERA Property Management System (PMS).

The Belfry also took advantage of the opportunity to be an early adopter of the new Windows POS tablet from Aures Technologies. Planned for release in a few months, this device raises the bar in tablet functionality - including fully integrated magnetic stripe reader (MSR), radio-frequency identification (RFID), near field communication (NFC) readers, barcode scanner and inbuilt hot swappable batteries for longer operating times. When not in use, the tablets can be mounted and used for guest-focused digital signage on their 10" displays, something The Belfry is keen to introduce.

Verteda’s expertise in integration may lead to further links forged with other systems at The Belfry: providing centralised information through reporting and dashboards, along with integrated loyalty, promotions and guest packages extending to the venue’s golf and spa systems, and digital signage on mobile POS, venue-wide TV screens and in guest rooms. The Verteda Vision analytics and business intelligence solution will, potentially, be used to connect data flows and deliver new insights into the business and its performance, including tracking sales versus budget versus forecast, incorporating and understanding social media for marketing purposes, and using weather mapping against sales data to understand the impact of weather on sales.
