Field Engineer

Warrington, Cheshire

About the opportunity:

We require a Field Engineer who has experience of installing and supporting IT systems and software. Our customers at our UK sports venues, foodservice, hotels and restaurant chains have invested in our point of sale, payment, stock and inventory and order solutions to improve productivity, scheduling and control costs and we require a proactive, smart and well commutative individual to complete installations onsite and support customers remotely as part of our Support team based at our head office in Warrington.

Experience of similar environments is essential and successful candidates will be energetic and tenacious, with a professional edge. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate a solid technical knowhow, the ability to work unsupervised, work to a project plan and demonstrate solid troubleshooting methodology. Working with our Support, Operations, Development and Project Managers to deliver projects to maximise and support our existing and new client base.

 

What you will need to have:

  • Experience installing and supporting software applications for the retail and hospitality sectors.
  • Windows Server and network experience
  • Knowledge of current Microsoft deployment technologies would be beneficial, but is not essential
  • Engaging verbal and written communication skills at all levels
  • Experience in I.T. based troubleshooting
  • Proven ability to take technical lead in projects and product deployments
  • Ability to travel is essential   
  • Experience of training end users

Working with our Support, Operations and Project Managers to deliver projects to meet the requirements of our existing and new client base.

 

What you will need to have:

  • Experience in developing windows applications using C# .Net
  • Experience in developing windows desktop applications
  • Knowledge of using Structured Query Language
  • Knowledge of developing Web Services
  • Experience in developing HTML solutions advantageous but not mandatory
  • Engaging verbal and written communication skills at all levels
  • Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with others
  • Ability to use your own initiative to solve problems and overcome challenges
