Verteda Hits All The Right Notes During Festival Season
Warrington, Cheshire, UK – 17th July 2018 – Following our announcement in March 2018 of Verteda’s agreement with Arena Racing Company to supply POS terminals, event day management software and Qjacker, our pre-order solution, to their 16 racecourses across the country, Verteda will be supporting Arena Racing Company as they embark on a busy summer events schedule.
Verteda’s Wi-Fi enabled POS terminals, which are portable between different venue locations, will be deployed at Zebedee’s Yard, a leading music venue in Hull, for their UB40 and Orbital gigs over the summer, in partnership with Arena Racing Company.
As the InfoGenesis Point of Sale terminals are Wi-Fi enabled, they can be moved between different events venues, enabling Arena Racing Company to deploy the devices across their 15 racecourses and locations depending on their events schedule.
This enables Arena Racing Company to maximise their POS estate investment, deploying resources where and when they are needed and making events management more flexible with connected POS terminals for easier ordering and more efficient revenue management.
The InfoGenesis Point of Sale terminals can be deployed in various locations within the racecourse which are often out of bounds without a hardwired network infrastructure in place. This enables the creation of pop-up locations to meet busy race day demands and has proven significant in increasing revenue generation and delivering a better customer experience. The flexibility of the Verteda solutions now gives Arena Racing Company further sales opportunities whilst minimising queues in their main service areas depending on their schedules and race day capacities.
Arena Racing Company will be hosting a number of high-profile race meetings over the summer, and many of these are being combined with large music events afterwards. At Lingfield Park, the August race meeting will be followed by a gig from global artist Paloma Faith, again using the Verteda POS devices across both events to maximise use of the deployed payment infrastructure.
As many race meetings are now being combined with multi-day music events, Arena Racing Company requires a solution that can cope with thousands of transactions and customer orders, whilst delivering more efficient reconciliation and management of transactions compared to traditional POS solutions. Verteda’s payment solutions reduce event-day fraud and deliver more insights into products sold, stock available and revenues received, whilst being flexible enough to be deployed where needed for multi-location venues.
Following the go-live of Verteda’s POS devices and wider event software solutions at Arena Racing Company’s Bath racecourse, a number of outcomes were observed:
- The racecourse saved an average of 30 minutes per staff member shift by efficient reconciliation of cash at the end of the day.
- The percentage of card transactions increased from 8% to 21% through our easier-to-use card payment devices and pre-order mobile application.
- Customer spend per head increased by 25%, due to an increased proportion of card transactions compared to cash payments.
- Cash variance on POS terminals was reduced from -£1000+ to -£41.
